Scammers can be extremely convincing and will play on your fears and sympathies to try to get you to cooperate. If you get a call from a business requesting payment via MoneyPak, hang up. If you think you may really owe money, call the business directly or go to their website.
Call someone else in your family close to that person to see if they really need help. If you get an email that looks suspicious, call or email the sender directly. Do not reply to the email or call any numbers provided in the email.

We will attempt to recover funds from fraudulent activity, but if the MoneyPak funds have already been transferred, we will not be able to refund that money to you. Keep your receipt. If we do recover any MoneyPak funds, we will require proof of purchase before any recovered funds can be returned to you. During registration, you must also verify your mobile phone number and allow Green Dot to send you text messages and collect information from your mobile device about your current location. You must also create a password. Keep your password safe to prevent others from logging into your account.
Additionally, some users may be asked to upload a photo ID so that we can verify their identity. Each customer may only have one secure login. However, you can use the same secure login to make deposits to multiple cards with different MoneyPaks. Carrier message and data rates apply. To keep your funds safe and help prevent fraud, we may require you to provide additional identity information and documents before you can use a MoneyPak.
In those instances, you may be asked to upload a photo ID. To upload your photo ID, please do the following: Using your mobile device in a well-lit area, take a clear photo of the front and back of your government-issued identification.
Be sure to check that all four corners are in the frame. The upload may take a few seconds. Follow the website instructions and proceed until it says your photo ID was successfully submitted. If the image is unclear, review Step 1 and try again.
We usually complete the review within half an hour, but If your ID requires additional review it can take up to two business days. If your ID qualifies for approval, we will send you a confirmation email. You may then come back to moneypak. If your ID is not readable, we will send you an email with instructions to come back and upload new images of your ID.
If your ID does not qualify for approval, we will send you an email with instructions to request a refund. If you already have a secure login, go to MoneyPak. Use the same mobile phone number and password you used to create your secure login. Run through these steps to troubleshoot the most common problems: Double check that you entered the MoneyPak and card account numbers correctly.
Verify that the card being used has been activated. If you are not sure that your card is activated, check with the bank that issued your card. Register the card online. Note that if you purchased your prepaid card online, you will complete registration at that time. Wait to receive your personalized Green Dot prepaid card in the mail. The typical processing time takes seven to 10 business days and you may use your temporary card until the personalized card arrives in the mail.
